Beat.
One, Two, Three.
Deep breaths.
One, Two ,Three.
Life Begins.
Fluttering eyes with the warm sunlight that plays across the grass.
Ears awakening to the song of birds singing to the gentle breeze in the air.
To the left was the soft smile that would soon be called home.
Resting in the shade of the tree, in that moment; Conception.
Life began all at once.
There was no warning,
No precautions,
No preparations,
It just happened.
The world shone brighter than ever before.
Happiness and joy could be found in every moment.
Day or night, no matter what, there was always a way to get home.
Time was suspended.
Logic and emotion walked hand-in-hand.
Two was becoming one.
Without worries or fears, life was blindly planned.
Soon, clouds started gathering in the clear skies.
Rain started coming down.
However the umbrella of hope did well in keeping dry.
But in the dryness of hope,
Hidden fears and veiled shame unknowingly walked together.
Then torrential rains came down.
A hurricane of reality blew the umbrella away.
Light shown into the darkness,
The veil was lifted,
There stood truth,
Naked and horrified.
Nightmares came to life.
Monsters came alive.
The pinnacle of life came to the point of a knife.
Balancing so carefully so not to fall the wrong way.
In that moment though, the clouds broke.
Healing warmth of the forgiving sun came through.
However the sun only shone on half of the home.
One became split in two.
Where there was freedom, there was slavery.
Where there was a lightness, there was a heavy heart.
Where there was peaceful rest, there was tormented sleep.
One burden had been passed to the other.
And where the burden was, the was a crushing depression.
So heavy that life gave way and it fell in deathly blow.
Gasping for air,
Clawing to escape,
light seemed to fade.
Help was given,
Resuscitation was tried,
Wounds were tried to be sewn up.
Beat fades.
Three, Two, One.
Breath escapes.
Three, Two, One.
Life ends.
